Humans have coexisted with different tolerances of acceptance. Political, cultural, and racial identities have both aided and challenged our capacity to coexist. We are now living in an era of explicit identity where people are passively or explicitly forced to identify with particular racial, political, or social ideologies; this has forced us to negate the nuances of identity and our capacity to accept, learn, and celebrate differences.
